‘Parunthu' From Today

AJ: 'Parunthu' will open today at 72 centers and in major cities, the movie will be released in more than one theater and its first show is planned at Thaanoor P V S theaters on the very first minute (12.01) am today which is a record by itself. In Kozhikkode Apsara, it is planned for a 3am release and will be shown at 6 am in many other centers of the North. Mammootty is playing the role of Purushottaman, called by everyone as 'Blade' Purushu or 'Parunthu'. Scripted by T A Razzaq and directed by M. Padmakumar, the cast include Devan, Sreelatha, Sabitha ,Saiju Kurup, Mamukkoya, Abu Salim, Kalyani, Lakshana and Jayan. Cinematographed by Sanjeev Shankar, Ranjan Abraham does the editing. The songs by Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma, Anil Panachooran and Kanesh Poonoor are set to music by Alex Paul. Boban is the art director and stills are by Sunil Guruvayur. AJ: Actress Gopika married doctor Ajilesh at Saint Mary's Church at Kothamangalam. Doctor Ajilesh is based in Ireland. A reception will be held at Ernakulam on July 20 for friends in the film field. Gopika's Popular Movies are 4 the People, Autograph, Kana Kandein, Chandupottu, Keertichakra, Vellithirai and Latha Manasulu. Her last film is Veruthe Oru Bharya with actor Jayaram. Her 'Autograph' was a big hit in 2004. She may not act after marriage.

Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine bags Filmfare award

AJ: Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine won the FilmFare awards, in its 55th edition, for their performances in the movies 'Paradesi' and 'Ore Kadal'. This was the ninth filmfare trophy that was presented to Mohanlal in his delightful career of 27 years. Mohanlal received the awards in the ceremony at Chennai's Nehru Indoor stadium "I consider 'Paradesi' as a landmark in my film career", he said at the occasion. Lakshmi Gopalaswamy was selected the best supporting actress while Saikumar bagged the award for the best supporting actor for his performance in 'Anandabhairavi'. 'Kathaparyumpol' was selected the best movie of the year, Babu Thiruvalla was adjudged the best director for his debut feature 'Thaniye'.Labels: Meera-Jasmine, Mohanlal
Saiju Kurup renamed as Aniruddh
AJ: Young actor Saiju Kurup is acting in a Tamil movie directed by the Bhagyaraj titled as 'Puthiya Vaarpukal', will appear in a new name in Tamil. He is named as Aniruddh in Tamil, and the actor likes to maintain that same name in Malayalam also. Saiju alias Aniruddh will be appearing as Rock Rasaaq, a character with negative shades in this Tamil film. Santhanu will be the hero of this movie. Vinoo Mohan in Tamil
AJ: A New young star of Malayalam Vinoo Mohan, is getting into Tamil in a new film directed by Suresh Krissna which stars Bharath has Vinoo in a role of great importance. The film tells the story of friendship between the two and is to be made bilingually. Vinoo Mohan's new Malayalam movie 'Sultan' which will grace the theatres next month. Vinoo's next movie is with director Sanal, who has also working on a campus flick with love, songs and action.
